A private club residence in Brentwood. Bespoke furniture and full-room millwork in walnut and honed travertine — every surface machined, then hand-finished to the last edge.
A house that reads like a private club — quiet materials, exacting joinery, and warmth in every hand.
The Club sits above a canyon in Brentwood, conceived as a residence that behaves like a members' room — generous, low-lit, and built entirely around gathering. Atelier delivered the full custom package: the bespoke furniture and the full-room millwork, engineered together so a lounge chair meets a wall panel on the same line.
Walnut runs through the interior as the connecting grain — case goods, ceiling battens, and integrated seating — set against honed travertine at the bar, the hearth, and the thresholds. Brass appears only where a hand lands: pulls, rails, and the machined feet beneath the seating. Nothing is off-the-shelf; every element was cut, fitted, and finished by the same hands that verified it.
Designed for the great room and made in our own shop: a low walnut frame, machined to a single continuous profile, then hand-rubbed until the grain reads like satin. Turn it — the light is doing the talking.
Every finish on The Club was pulled as a physical sample and signed off in daylight before a single piece was cut. Laid out here as they sat on the bench.
